This unique role is designed for a high-energy educator who can bridge the gap between foundational middle school dance and elite high school pageantry.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: Competitive 187-day Teacher Salary (based on years of experience).
Stipend: This position includes a dedicated Color Guard Director Stipend for responsibilities associated with the marching band and winter guard seasons.
Benefits: Full district benefits package including health, dental, and TRS retirement.
Position Overview
This is a split-campus role providing a seamless pipeline for our performing arts students. You will serve as the artistic lead for the high school guard while cultivating future talent at the middle school level.
Belton High School (Color Guard Director)
Program Leadership: Oversee all aspects of the Color Guard program for both the Fall Marching Band season and the Spring Winter Guard season.
Artistic Design: Choreograph and design competitive routines that challenge and inspire student-athletes.
Operations: Manage rehearsals, recruitment, equipment inventory, and logistics.
Collaboration: Work closely with the BHS Band Directors and engage with a supportive parent booster community.
South Belton Middle School (Dance Instructor)
Instruction: Teach two to three sections of Middle School Dance.
Curriculum: Develop a strong technical foundation in students to prepare them for high school level dance and guard programs.
Dual Credit: Manage dance classes that satisfy the state Physical Education (PE) requirement for middle school students.
Candidate Requirements
Certification - Required: Valid Texas Educator Certificate in Dance (Grades 6-12). Preferred Cert - A Physical Education (PE) certification is highly preferred to streamline the dual-credit dance/PE sections.
Technical Skills - Proficiency in dance technique (ballet, modern, jazz) and equipment work (flag, rifle, sabre).
Leadership - Ability to mentor students, manage high-stakes competitive schedules, and maintain professional communication with stakeholders.
