South Houston High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Color Guard Director to lead and elevate our dynamic marching arts program. If you're excited about developing young performers' technical skills, artistic expression, and leadership potential, we'd love to meet you! Our Color Guard program has experienced tremendous growth, and we're looking for an inspiring educator to take our students to the next level.
About the Role
As Color Guard Director, you'll be a vital member of our band staff, working collaboratively to create an enriching educational experience for our students. You'll have full responsibility for coordinating all aspects of our color guard and winter guard programs, leading both Varsity and JV teams through engaging instruction, meaningful feedback, and creative choreography.
What We're Looking For
-Demonstrated experience teaching color guard at the high school level
-Strong knowledge of flag, rifle, and sabre techniques
-Solid foundation in dance technique and proven experience in dance pedagogy
-Ability in program and budget management
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and staff
-Passion for student development and educational excellence
-Ability to inspire and motivate young performers
-Experience with equipment management and maintenance
-Commitment to creating an inclusive, positive learning environment that supports student growth
